Anemometer Loan Program

Submitted by Dallas.Masters on Fri, 06/12/2009 - 1:12pm. Categories:

I applied for an anemometer loan through the GEO/ALP program for the Town of Nederland.  Long shot for this year, but maybe next... I suggested the wastewater site, as it's unobstructed and owned by the Town.  It sits low in the valley, so it may not be the best site.  The ALP has data from Estes Park and Blackhawk.  Both were classified as "marginal" sites, but I didn't find many sites in CO that weren't listed as "marginal."  Perhaps we'd have a better location.

http://otherpower.com/ has details on this workshop but also some other great information.  As a former volunteer fire fighter I'd never seen the training presentation to safely deal with renewable energy home systems....just a great website to check out.

Boulder County to Review Code for Small Wind and Other Renewable Uses

Time:
Thu, May 14, 4:00pm

On May 14, the Boulder County Board of Commissioners will consider amendments to the Land Use Code concerning small wind turbines and solar energy collectors.  Changes are proposed to existing use classifications, and new use classifications are proposed as well.

The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Hearing Room, third floor of the Boulder County Courthouse, 1325 Pearl St., Boulder.

Boulder County supports the transition to renewable energy sources as one of the key actions adopted in the countywide Sustainable Energy Plan. Not all land use regulations, however, have allowed property owners to be as flexible with how and where renewable energy systems are implemented.
