I think the opportunity to create a Sustainability Advisory Board for the Town
of Nederland is one that NedREP should embrace and lead. It will give NedREP
much more influence to affect the change that we all want to see, and it gives
the required structure to working with Town staff and outside groups on behalf
of the Town. It also puts into Town government a lasting and an official
mechanism for the ideas NedREP wants to promote (check that off the list of
NedREP advocacy goals).
I don't see this as an extra burden for NedREP, rather just another name of a
sub-group of NedREP members who are already focusing on Town sustainability
issues. The Town has just opened the door to being much more effective on
sustainability issues, so I hope you all decide that the Sustainability
Advisory Board should be one of NedREP's projects. I expect the Sustainability
Advisory Board will be created and initial members will be appointed August 11.

Feedback on Sustainability Advisory Board for the Town?
I hope the Sustainability Advisory Board was discussed at the meeting Monday. Can someone post the minutes or give a summary? I would like to draft a resolution creating the Sustainability Advisory Board and its initial members for the Board of Trustees meeting scheduled for Aug. 11. Please let me know who is interested in participating on this board.
